Blue Wave Dinner Plate

Mottahedeh Indigo Wave Dinner Plate
Merchant sailors from the Companie Des Indes (East India Company) dominated trade with the Orient in the 17th and 18th centuries. Their sailing ships carried cargo from the fabled East including rare porcelains sought after by kings and connoisseurs in Europe. One such piece, an exquisite porcelain plate made for a Portuguese nobleman, inspired the Indigo Wave pattern from Motthedeh. Enriched with 22 k gold, the design in deep cobalt blue is typical of the most prized of Chinese export porcelains..
Dinner Plate: 10.75" diameter.
